South Reno stretches from Windy Hill along the west side of I-395/580 all the way south past 431/Mt Rose Highway. The area broadly includes South Suburban, Arrowcreek, Saddlehorn, Fieldcreek, Rolling Hills, Callahan Ranch, Montreux, Galena Forest and St James Village.

These neighborhoods feature many lovely parks, from Bartley Ranch and Anderson Regional Park in the north to Thomas Creek and Galena Creek in the south. In addition to the more widely known Montreux and Arrowcreek golf courses, locals regularly enjoy Wolf Run Golf Club, giving it many good reviews.

South Reno is also served by many fine public schools, including charter schools like Doral Academy, as well as private ones like Sage Ridge School and Bishop Manogue High School. Residents here are also quite close to many fine restaurants, large employers and some of the best shopping in town.

Housing in this area varies from older, modest starter homes to the finest luxury estates. Lots are sized accordingly, from city standard to multiple acres allowing horses and livestock with ponds, barns and other outbuildings. Some properties are part of a homeowner’s association, while others are not. Pricing starts in the mid $300,000s and goes all the way up to almost $15 million.
