Downtown Truckee-Gateway

Historic downtown Truckee, located south of I-80 and west of Highway 267 along Donner Pass Road, is the lively center of town with many one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants.

Gateway is located west of downtown, also along Donner Pass Road but north of I-80, running all the way to Donner Lake State Park.

Downtown Truckee centers around Commercial Row, the main line of shops and restaurants that runs parallel to the railroad tracks along the Truckee River. There's an Amtrak station right there where you can catch a train to Denver, San Francisco and points beyond. The surrounding neighborhood offers a wonderful selection of historic homes, many restored to their original condition.

Gateway is primarily a commercial area where you'll find grocery, hardware and other retail stores, along with restaurants, schools and professional services. Homes in the surrounding area are typically rancher or cabin styles, with this area being more affordable than other areas and centrally located with walkable convenience.

Home prices start at $400,000 for a small, dated cabin and go up to over $2 million for a beautifully restored Victorian right on the river.
